Balticina christii

(Koren and Danielssen, 1848)

Description
A slender, red sea-pen up to 1000 mm long. Autozooids arranged in oblique rows, with larger, prominent calyces shaped like wheat grains, each with two, rarely more, strong points on its abaxial side.

Distribution
It occurs in Norway, the Faeroes and the Dogger Bank, down to 200 m. Also one record from the deep water off Northumberland.
