Description
Haloclavidae with an elongated column differentiated indistinctly into physa, scapus, and capitulum; physa with cinclides. Siphonoglyph prolonged aborally, sometimes forming a tube partly separated from the actinopharynx. The entrance to the siphonoglyph is produced into a lobed structure, the conchula, on the oral disc. Tentacles 12; six pairs of perfect and four pairs of imperfect mesenteries are present, the latter relatively large, bearing retractor muscles, but not extending to the oral disc. Sphincter muscle absent. Larvae parasitic on medusae.
