Description
Hormathiidae possessing a normal adherent basal disc which is never invaginated or cup-like. Column differentiated into scapus and scapulus, the former usually with solid tubercles and periderm, the latter usually with longitudinal ridges. Cinclides are absent. Tentacles hexamerously arranged usually no more than five cycles being present, without mesogloeal swellings at their bases. Six pairs of mesenteries perfect and sterile, mesenteries equal in number proximally and distally. Sphincter muscle strong, retractors diffuse.
