Description
Edwardsiidae with column differentiated into physa, scapus and capitulum; scapus without nemathybomes or true periderm. Nematosomes, small free bodies consisting of flagellated cells and nematocysts, up to about 40 µm diameter, occur within the coelenteron; they are unique to this genus. Ciliated tracts of mesenteries long and discontinuous.
