Genus Urticina

Description
Actiniidae with the column differentiated into scapus and capitulum, with a prominent parapet and deep fosse. Scapus usually bearing verrucae, but acrorhagi are absent. Sphincter muscle circumscript, usually strong. Tentacles and mesenteries of adults arranged decamerously (10 + 10 + 20, etc.).

Type-species: Urticina crassicornis (Muller, 1776)
